Growing up without much, Avila's family instilled the values that helped him become the person he is today. Through hard work, education and a great investment of time, Avila has become a leader in the organization he is a part of and a valued member of his community.
Hearing the call to serve, Avila knew it was time to dedicate himself to a higher cause and become a public servant. Avila describes it as a calling to do what was right.
As a child I always dreamed of growing up to become Captain America. Obviously, that didn't work out.
Together with his family, the decision was made to take this journey to the next phase. It is through faith and a love for Deltona that Santiago Avila, Jr. now moves ahead and asks for your support. This is not just Avila's journey, as we are with him. Together we can make a better tomorrow for our children, grandchildren and the future generations to come.
Family Life
Avila was raised in Miami, FL and attending public schools, he developed a diverse view of the world. He is of Cuban and Mexican descent and was born in Chicago, Illinois. Avila was the first in his family to graduate high school, and his parents raised him and his siblings in a working class family of immigrants. From a young age, he learned the value of being involved in his community, a good education and helping others. He met his wife at church. They have been married for over 16 years and together have 1 child: Eliana Isabel.
As a former Youth Pastor, Avila enjoys being involved with the youth in his community. He believes that youth groups and youth clubs can help keep today's youth out of trouble.
A Love for the U.S. Constitution
Avila's biggest drive is wanting to inform American Citizens of their natural rights as granted by our creator. He believes that teaching the Constitution will protect everyone's rights from an overreaching government. He is not a follower or a supporter of the Convention of States.
He believes the Constitution needs to be read and not re-written.
